Join us on Saturday, June 22, 2024 for the Texas Purple Hull Pea Festival, or TXPHP Fest. TXPHP is a celebration of history and culture, that includes walking tours and food, as well as contests, a kids' zone. Admission is free!

The TXPHP Fest started in 2014 to celebrate cultural traditions in agriculture and food related to the Deep East and Southeast Texas regions, more specifically the historic Texas Freedom Colony: Shankleville in Newton County.
